Beginning and Belonging

When a student joins Whitecross we work hard to ensure their transition is as smooth as possible.  We know how important a sense of belonging is, whether that is within a family, a friendship group, neighbourhood or a club.  So when a student begins their journey with us, they immediately become part of our Whitecross family.

Each student joins a tutor group and will typically have the same Form Tutor during years 8 to 11.  This continuation of Form Tutor helps build a strong relationship and also develops a true sense of belonging.  Each year group is lead by a Pastoral Lead who will move with the students each year thereby offering further support.  

Students also join one of our four academies - Bromley, Hagloe, Moyle, Styre - which form the foundation of Whitecross school life.
