You as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.
- Thomas Keller
Food technology enables students to learn how they can produce a wide variety of imaginative and delicious food options, whilst always trying to make informed choices within a varied and balanced diet.
Through the curriculum, students are actively contributing to the creativity, culture, wealth and wellbeing of themselves. Students are taught how to become competent using a range of different cooking techniques as well as acquiring new skills with a range of specialist cooking equipment. Students are taught about the provenance of ingredients as well as learning about seasonality and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed. The Food department also benefits from a full-time dedicated technician to support teaching and learning and state of the art facilities.
