Helping people to connect with their personal creative capacities is the surest way to release the best they have to offer.

- Ken Robinson

Students at Whitecross experience a wide and diverse range of materials and processes throughout their creative journey. They are encouraged to be curious and independent, able to devise and develop their own creative ideas from initial conception to realisation.

Through exploration, our young people refine their ideas to communicate thoughtful and developed responses to projects and briefs, experimenting with exciting combinations of materials and digital processes. Students are given time and space to develop their artistic talents within a supportive environment with excellent facilities.

This means:

  • Students are able to confidently analyse, read and evaluate works of art using artistic vocabulary.
  • Students use a range of materials sensitively to respond to the world around them.
  • Students create a range of personal and creative responses to a variety of different starting points.
  • Students experience a diverse range of different materials as well as digital techniques.
  • Students feel supported to develop a range of personal ideas and imaginative leaps.
