Andrew Blackman

My family moved to Herefordshire when I was 3 years old. I attended my local primary school (Kingstone & Thruxton Primary) then The Hereford Cathedral School via the 11+ scheme. When 18 I left home to go to university in Leicester and gained a degree in Engineering. I then embarked on a career in logistics managing complex warehousing and transport schemes for customers all over the UK.

Some 28 years ago I moved my young family back to Hereford (what a great place to live) where both my sons went through the school system. Subsequently I joined Herefordshire Council, where for the last 15 years I have been in charge of school and college transport and school admissions.

I live close to Whitecross and I now feel it is time to use my recent work experience to the benefit of my local secondary school in my new role as one of its Governors.
