Whitecross Hereford is a mixed 11 – 16 high school and specialist sports college with 900 students on roll. We are lucky to be based in modern, state of the art buildings which were opened by Lord Sebastian Coe in 2006.
We are determined to be the best and to ensure our students achieve the highest academic standards in a rich and diverse learning environment.
Our students join an academy on arrival. These academies, named after local Herefordshire apples, form the bedrock of the school. Each academy acts as a family and students support each other in mixed age form groups. Our commitment to mixed age tutoring ensures a strong community ethos underpinned by our six values.
As well as the academies we have a strong student services team able to support students and families both within school and the wider community. The school was rightly judged outstanding in the last Ofsted inspection for its care, guidance and support.
Whilst our sporting pedigree is strong and our resources superb, our curriculum provision is broad and balanced and our extra-curricular provision is first class. We are particularly proud of our strength in creative arts and produce sell out school productions and regular showcases for music, art and drama allowing students, whatever their ability, to participate.
